There are several toothpastes available in the market and each one claiming to be the best. You might have seen a thousand ads stating "No.1 toothpaste that dentists recommend". Well the truth is there is no such thing as best toothpaste. All toothpastes does it's job in cleaning a healthy tooth.

But did you know there are types of toothpastes? Let me categorize a few: Anti-cavity toothpaste, Periodontal toothpaste, Sensitivity toothpaste, and many more.

I’ll give you an example which all of us are pretty familiar with. Did you know that the brand Sensodyne is for sensitive teeth?! I have seen a whole family using it! It is meant for people who are sensitive to cold or hot foods, especially the elderly people. Now that is where you might be making a mistake. No matter if a toothpaste is the best in the world, all you need to know is what is best for you. And for this, none other than your dentist can help you find out what your mouth need exactly.

That is, if you are having a mouth problem be it caries, sensitivity, staining, foul smell, swollen gums, and the list goes on; that is when you should seek a dentist who could recommend the best toothpaste for you. Now that's personalized! The toothpaste that is best for you might be the worst choice for the other person.

So unless you have an issue, go for usual toothpaste and the key part is to change the brand after every 2 to 3 tubes. Because it is often noticed that using one brand continuously can kind of nullify the effect it provides. But beware of allergies you might encounter with few toothpastes out there, if so, discontinue immediately.
